APA (Ateliers Paysans Artisans)
Project
The staff members of the association APA (Ateliers Paysans Artisans) are very active in the environmental field. They experiment collectively some new ways to produce, consume, live and organize the social relations.
They are committed to cultural openness as well as social solidarities and wish to encourage the exchanges of know-how’s and knowledge’s through the creation of networks.
They want to arouse the reflection around an alternative lifestyle by using collective and concrete actions: gardening, repair café, harvest and sale of organic vegetables and fruits.http://www.paysans-artisans.be/
Work
The association bought an old barn of 135m². They would like to use it to collect and distribute all the organic fruits and vegetables of their partners. With the help of technical leader, your team will work inside the barn to renovate it: knocking down and cleaning the inside walls, dismantling the staircase… During some days, your team will be split into 4 groups to give a hand to the farmers of the village (members of APA): harvest fruits, renovation of fences…
The last days of the project, you team will work in the famous Esperanzah world music festival (task to be confirmed: Assembly of certain structures, painting, decoration…)
Accommodation
Your team will have a dormitory in a renovated barn. You’ll have a kitchen and a dining hall. Be aware that the accommodation is quite basic. The shower will be outside.
Food
Your team will cook each evening together. Breakfast at the sleeping place, lunch time at the working place.
